  1. The FX8800P is not Carrizo-L it’s full Carrizo(Excavator cores), and fat chance getting any laptop able to run the part at 35 watts, the OEMs are cramming the FX8800P into thin and lights at 15 watts with maybe short bursts to 25 watts. These 15 watt FX8800P restricted laptops experience thermal throttling during gaming and graphics workloads but still outperform Intel’s U series SKUs in graphics benchmarks.

Just imagine if the laptop makers would have put the Carrizo FX8800P into a regular form factor laptop with a cooling solution able to run the FX8800P at its full design envelope of 35 Watts! Hopefully there eventually will be some Carrizo FX8800P laptop SKUs(In NON Thin and Light laptops) that will let the FX8800P run unhindered at 35 watts, but don’t hold your breath! I’m asking Santa for a laptop with the Carrizo FX8800P that comes with the option of adding an AMD GCN discrete mobile GPU to pair with the FX8800P’s(at 35 watts) integrated APU graphics.
