Asus X540NV is a mid-size budget laptop built for everyday computing. It comes with one of entry-level Intel processors: Pentium N4200, Celeron N3450 or Celeron N3350. Though those processors are not powerful, it gives you a little graphics performance boost thanks to an entry-level discrete-class graphics card inside, the NVIDIA GeForce 920MX with 2GB of GDDR5 graphics memory. As for storage, it ships with up to 1 TB hard drive or up to 512 GB Solid State Drive.
Diagonal size of the display is 15.6 inches and because it’s based on old model (X540), the bezel looks thick. The display may come with HD (1366 x 768 pixels) or Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. All display variants have color gamut of 45% NTSC and 60Hz refresh rate. With Asus Splendid technology, you can choose from four visuals modes which include EyeCare, Vivid, Normal and Manual.
The Asus X540NV has a chiclet keyboard without backlight. Touchpad on the device supports multi-touch input. Available ports include an AC adapter plug, a USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI output port and a combo audio jack for headphone output and microphone input. A Super-Multi DVD drive is included as well.
For connecting to wireless network, it’s equipped with either Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n or Wi-Fi 802.11ac. It also has Bluetooth v4.0 for wireless sync with nearby devices. As for audio it has built-in 2W speakers and a microphone. ASUS SonicMaster technology is used to improve audio output. Above the screen, it has a VGA 480p web camera.
This budget laptop is equipped with a 3-cell 33 Whr battery as power source, with a power adapter rated at 45W. With dimensions of 381 x 251 x 27.2 mm, it weighs 2.00 kg including the battery. If you are looking for a budget laptop and you need to run slightly graphics demanding applications, this product may suit your needs.
